On Saturday, July 25th, AKIN finally opened its doors to the Chicago public waiting to step foot into the city’s newest streetwear boutique. After months of hard work and preparation Potential Villain was lucky enough to officially debut our first t-shirt collection in the store along side other dope brands such as Nike Sportswear, Adidas, IM King, KIKS TYO and Wrongwroks. A large crowd of friends and family came out and showed their support for the brand new store. Mr. Neeks was on the decks playin ill joints throughout the day while the crowd enjoyed free ice cream and sushi while browsing the new space.

Nearly everyone participated in the raffles with prizes such as Cubs/Sox tickets, gift cards, CK AF1, OG Air Max 1 and the much anticipated crowd favorite, the Air Jordan Defining Moments Package (DMP). The fashion show previewed Nike Sportswear’s Spring 2010 collection that included tee’s, jackets, bags, and shoes which all seemed extremely promising. People filtered in and out throughout the day and lingered around until the store finally closed its doors for the day. The opening could not have been anymore successful and only marks the beginning of a new era in the Chicago streetwear scene. Peep the pictures below to see how it all went down.
